The Story of Living in Sendai researches the transformation of habitation after the Great East Japan Earthquake. In Sendai, a staggering number of homes were destroyed by March’s earthquake and tsunami. People who lost their homes had to relocate to shelters, temporay housing and recovery housing in a short period of time. In the process they used urban and interpersonal relationships to create an independent definition of ‘home’.
